The goal of PIPS is to provide as many different options as needed to allow you to fully express yourself. If you feel there are options missing, feel free to contact us with what you feel is missing, and we'll do what we can.

In the description for each symbol, we've tried to describe what most people would think if they saw this symbol. This may conflict with the ideal definition or not include some edge cases, but we feel it is more important that the symbols be simple and represent their common usage.

This page is undergoing constant updates as we better refine what these terms mean to most people. If you have valuable resources to contribute on the topic, please contact us using the same link as above.

All images are proof of concept images and may be refined and updated in the near future before printing.

Gender Identity

Update 2012-11-15: We just realized that, because you can rotate the buttons, the difference between male / trans male and female / trans female may not be significant enough to recognize from odd orientations. We will be updating the trans male and female symbols to have a dot indicating orientation.

Orientation

The symbols with no straight or jagged line across the bottom right apply to romantic orientation as well, unless a romantic orientation symbol (straight line across the bottom right) is also present. For example, wearing the "Asexual" symbol implies you're "Aromantic" as well; wearing the "Asexual" symbol with the "Biromantic" symbol is different.

Update 2012-12-05: Due to how ugly the stripe looks for the "romantic" set in production, we'll be replacing it with a hollow heart and the staircase with a bed. In addition, the three sex organ ones are changing to match the new sex organ symbols.
